Description:Nano-fluid is envisioned to describe a fluid in which nanometer-sized particles are suspended in conventional heat transfer basiflcu ids. To investigate the effect of nano-fluids on convective heat transfer, an experimental study was performed through a square-cross sectional straight duct with constant heat flux boundary conditions in the laminar regime. Stable nano-fluids, which were water-based suspensions of Alumina and Cupric Oxide nano-particles, were prepared by two-step method. The effects of thermal conductivity and supernatant nano-particles of the nanofluids on convective heat transfer were investigated under laminar flow regime.
