EPİC OF AVALORA: CALL TO WAR

4.9/5 (10316 ratings)
Description:On the road... The weather was dry and hot. The coachman was continuing to whip the horses at December intervals. Magnus was watching from the window of the car, thinking about the fate that awaited him. The Kingdom of Elysia was a country that was arid in summer. Although other seasons are fertile and rainy, the summer month has always meant unbearable times for this country. Magnus's lips were constantly drying, and at short intervals he was wetting his lips from the canteen he was holding in December. The sun was right at the top and it was almost burning Magnus inside. He watched the coachman for a while. It was as if this heat had not affected him at all. He was continuing to do his job with all seriousness. He put his arms out of the car window to cool off a little. That felt good. He began to watch the landscape thoughtfully again. "I hope your trip is going well, Mr. Magnus!" he was startled out of his thoughts by hearing her voice. Although they had been on the road for hours, he had heard the carriage driver's voice for the first time. With a slightly cynical attitude: "So you can talk. I'm glad about that," Magnus responded. While the coachman smiles with the edge of his lip: "It seems that the wound on your chest has begun to heal. It's really nice to see that you are ready for the battle," he said. Magnus was startled for a moment. He had met this man for the first time in the hospital yard. He could have guessed that he had a wound, as happens to every patient who leaves the hospital, but how did he know Magnus enough to know that he had a chest injury? He squinted his eyes carefully at the coachman. His disguise was perfectly in place and he had the appearance of someone who was doing his job seriously. He saw that you had a small dagger attached to your belt. He had not been hit by any weapon or vehicle that gave the impression that he might pose a risk to himself. He didn't know if he should have perceived this as a threat, but it was obvious that he couldn't even rival Magnus in size, but he still had to be cautious. The coachman seemed to understand that Magnus was worried: "Your feats go from tongue to tongue, Mr. Magnus. Really, it's a great loss for them that Nordheim couldn't kill you! Huh...huh...huh...!" he continued. Magnus was listening to what was being said in amazement. He had no idea how this man knew so much about himself. With the reflex of being a soldier, he examined the hilt of his sword with his right hand. He didn't know what he was up against. The coachman suddenly burst out laughing; "Ha...ha...huh...! Mr. Magnus... Don't worry! You know how these things happen; I can't stand even one sword thrust, and you are a hero. I think you realize that a simple coachman like me can't hurt you! Huh... huh... huh...!" Magnus maintained silence, carefully studying the man who knew so much about him, but whom he had never met. The coachman in order to break the silence and relieve Magnus' tension: "Everything is heard quickly in these lands. Even the youngest sane children know that a hero like you was wounded in the chest in your last battle. What I know about you is just public gossip. Please don't worry," he continued his words. The last thing Magnus remembered was a spear coming towards him, and then he woke up jumping out of bed in pain. He did not know how many days had passed from the day he was injured to now. The public, who had read about his every kind of heroism in the local newspapers, could somehow have known how Magnus was injured and was under treatment. Thinking like this, he thought for a moment that the coachman might be telling the truth, but he was determined to be cautious. "It seems that you are a sharp ear," Magnus said. The coachman laughed again and said, "Master Magnus, huh... huh... huh...! You are really a very outspoken person, but look, listen! Breathe deeply and feel the scorching of the air in your lungs! Look at the blue of this clear sky and be grateful that you can still see! It's really nice to live! I wish you and your soldiers success in the battle of Tranquil! It is said that it will be a really difficult battle. I will pray for your survival!" Author's Note: You've definitely never read a book like this before!
