Description:Among the priceless books contributed by Śrīla Sanātana Gosvāmī to the literary heritage of the Gauḍīya Vaiṣṇavas, his Śrī Kṛṣṇa-līlā-stava is the shortest and simplest. An offering of praise in 432 verses, it gives a personal meditation on Kṛṣṇa's Vṛndāvana pastimes as told by Śukadeva in Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam. In Kṛṣṇa-līlā-stava Śrīla Sanātana Gosvāmī evokes remembrance of these pastimes by summarising Śukadeva's narration in simple verses, a meditation he punctuates with 108 acts of respectfully bowing down. His verses give us a taste of Kṛṣṇa's Vṛndāvana pastimes, one after another, thus immersing us in the nectar of the Bhāgavatam. The translator of this work, Gopīparāṇadhana Dāsa is both a scholar of Sanskrit and a practitioner of devotional service to Lord Kṛṣṇa. Under the guidance of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda, he developed an expertise in Sanskrit and served for many years as an editor for the Bhaktivedanta Book Trust. When Śrīla Prabhupāda passed away, Gopīparāṇadhana served on the three-man team that completed Śrīla Prabhupāda's edition of Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam. As the present book goes to press, Gopīparāṇadhana is living with his wife, his eleven-year-old son, and ten cows in Govardhana, the north Indian village where the author of Śrī Kṛṣṇa-līlā-stava spent the last years of his life.
