The text collected on this volume cover the analysis of the findings done in the area the last fifty years that reveal important aspects of its origins and seek recognition of the ancient cultures of the northeast. It combines original works in Spanish with others translated from English, in some cases for the first time, giving access to new insights of investigation to the scientific community. This book demonstrates the value of scientific collaboration to overcome a political and cultural barrier that has been defined just the nineteenth century, and that is irrelevant in the past, including prehistory. Most of the works included were originally published in scientific journals of very limited circulation; others are thesis with restricted distribution.
