Chikkar Cholay cooked with twelve spices along with salad, pickles and mint chatni raita (a dip made up of yoghurt and ground mint and green chilies) offer a great taste; in short, I saw a great resemblance between life and Chikkar Cholay; therefore, the book was named so. Then, there is a thing in drama called USP that is Unique Selling Point. I thought to name the book so that everyone is attracted towards it. The intention behind this name was to present a 11 tribute to Punjab, especially to Lahore. As I have written that I am not a native blood; I belong to the Arabic race relating to both my fraternal and maternal grandfathers, but for two centuries, Panipat, Delhi and then Lahore has provided refuge to my ancestors in their arms; gave respect, status and ample sustenance; dyed me in its own colour. I wanted to offer my gratitude to the land of Punjab and the same land will embrace me one day. Therefore, Chikkar Cholay is the peculiar cuisine of Lahore, which is not found anywhere else other than Lahore, and Lahore is the crown of Punjab.
