Description:This book tells, in pictorial form, the story of the first 100 years of King Edward VII School. Starting with a short history of Taiping town, it chronicles the history of the School. The need for a centrally located English school led the colonial administration to establish the Central School in 1883. In 1905, the school moved to the present primary school site and the following year it officially became known as King Edward VII School. The re-naming was performed by His Royal Highness the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Iskandar. The book also covers various aspects of the School, the principals who headed it between 1883 and 1983, and prominent Old Edwardians. Apart from recording the School’s achievements in games and activities, such as Rugby, Football, Cricket, Hockey, Athletics and Basketball, the book features the School’s attainments in co-curricular activities, such as the Cadet Corps and Scouting. The book also mentions the role of the Board of Governors and the Old Edwardians Associations in the development of the School.
