Prince Linus, Thirteen-year-old son to King Leo of the Kingdom of Avalon is a righteous boy who loves his father and mother—Queen Catherine. Linus wants to prove himself as a man to his father who protects the future heir from participating in hunts and Jousting. Linus longs to joust someday and of course to follow his father in hunting game. Deep in the mountains of Avalon, Ivan the young dragon and son of Doakone the Dragon King must prove himself to be the next leader of the Doakone Clan. Ivan was taught by the elders, that humans are evil and hunt them for food. Wanting to prove himself to his father that he deserves to be clan leader Ivan sneaks out through the Black Forest after his father leads a hunt. What Ivan sees later has changed Ivan’s life. He sees his father tortured and killed by King Leo and quickly flies home. The shock has led to Ivan unable to breathe fire and is banned from becoming clan leader. A spell of poison is put on King Leo from the dragon-witch Leona in revenge that kills Leo as he consumes Doakone. Linus becomes a boy king and quickly changes Avalon into a peaceful nation by banning dragon hunting. Thought to be a weakling he is challenged by a legion of brutal Nomads that are conquering the region.
