Arthur and Eric: An Anglo-Australian story from the journal of Arthur Hickman

Arthur Thomas Godfrey Hickman
4.9/5 (32859 ratings)
Description:The publication of 'Arthur and Eric' is a story in itself. Two young writers, Arthur Hickman and Eric Muspratt, met in London in 1926, a year after the editor of their story, Bruce Grant, was born. Eric became a celebrated author, who later died in Australia in obscurity, and Arthur, who worked for The Times, created the extraordinary Journal from which this story is taken and in which he recorded in great detail his own life and the lives of many of his friends. Bruce Grant went to London in 1954 as a foreign correspondent, five years after Eric Muspratt, whom he had never met, had died in Australia, and he and Arthur Hickman became close friends. When Arthur was knocked down and killed by a truck in London in 1969, in his seventieth year, he bequeathed to Grant his Journal, which he had been keeping since 1923 and none of which had been published. It arrived in Melbourne in two tea-chests: ninety exercise books filled with fine handwriting, about three and a half million words. - Taken from hard cover edition jacketWe have made it easy for you to find a PDF Ebooks without any digging.
