Description:Murder in the Schoolhouse is the story of the cold blooded shooting of Steve Klapouschak in the early morning hours of December 4, 1951.Klapouschak was the teacher in the one room schoolhouse at Dalton Ontario, a whistle-spot on the main line of the Canadian Pacific Railway 344 Kilometers west of Sudbury.Robert Bruce Dusharm was convicted twice for teh murder and was eventually hanged on June 15, 1956. Ducsharm's first conviction was overturned by the Ontario Court fo Appeal because of proprietorial and judicial errors. A new judge and prosecutor were appointed for the second trial and made no mistakes.The case turns on the strange personality of the murderer and what appeared to be his homosexual relationship with the victim. Shortly before the killing, Duscharm and Klapouschak quarreled and Ducsharm was sent packing from the the victim's living quarters where the the two had been sharing a bed for several weeks. Complicating the case was one John Naegel, another person who was a "close friend" of Steve Klapouschak. Naegel suspected by some to be the real killer was expected to be a star witness for the prosecution.
