With this end in view the Government created the Military Hospitals Commission in June, 1915. As the war continued, a further step was taken by forming a permanent Ministry of Soldiers' Civil Re-establishment, looking to the increased responsibilities in this connection immediately succeeding the demobilization of the Forces.
