A feemingl delay in bringing it out; The Editor; in Jullice to himfelf, cannot fufi'er it to appear, without adding a few words in his own jultification, and requefting that the Public will be lieve his allurance, that every expedition has been tiled on his part to bring it forward earlier but as it is the cullom of the lhort-hand WI iter to leave blanks for the feveral quotations, it became a matter of greater difficulty to get thele filled up, with exaetnefs and preci iion, than can well be conceived by thofe who are not very conver fant in thele matters efpecially as l'v'lr. Gerrald was removed from Edinburgh lo foon, that the editor could not availhimfelf of his ailiff ance in this refpee'c, except in a very {light degree, before his depart ure and having had uccafion to make the application to him, from time to time, on that head lince his arrival in London, the unavoid able delays attending communications at fuch a diftance, rendered lt' impolhble to publilh the T rial fooner.
