In chronic cases, equal parts are used with good results. The duration of the disease, previous to the time of treatment, varied very much; for instance, twenty-six patients had had a discharge for a time varying from two days to two weeks, while fourteen varied from two to six weeks, and two patients of intemperate habits had had a dis charge of two months; nineteen patients had gonorrhoea for the first time, eight for the second time, and fifteen had had it several times. Three patients had suppurating buboes, when they applied for treatment; nine had chancroids; four had indurated chancres, which were followed by secondary syphilis.
