That importance-has hee'n'often set forth in all the imagery of language, and the sober reality of facts; but the Imagery has soon lost its charm, and thefacts their force, in' the distance through which they were seen. The story of the'strug gles of feeble Churches, at the distance of a thousand miles, how ever told, may excite sympathy but familiarity with the pecu liar. Circumstances which cause' those struggles, is' essential to a just conception of the importance 'of the effort which must be made in their'behalf.
