I diagnose and provide a key to all the living genera and Afrotropical species. The living taxa comprise 23 genera, of which eight are herein newly described. The Afrotropical fauna comprises 45 species, ofwhich 18 are newly described. I also summarize our knowledge ofcyatholipid morphology and natural history and examine the biogeography of species and higher clades.
