G. Hamilton and another with C. T. Musson, who has also presented for publication an important paper on Grevillea hybrids, based on the careful notes made by Fletcher over a period of several years. This paper will appear in 1927. In January, 1900, Fletcher presided over the Biology Section at the Melbourne Meeting of the Australasian Association for the Advancement of Science. In 1921 he was awarded the Clarke Memorial Medal by the Royal Society of New South Wales. He was a trustee of the Australian Museum and a member of the Royal Zoological Society of New South Wales. After his death Mrs. Fletcher felt that the desk, presented to her husband on his retirement from the position of Secretary in 1919, should find a place in the Society's rooms, so she graciously presented it to the members. It is now in the office and will be used by the future secretaries of the Society. An appreciation of Mr. Fletcher by one of his oldest friends, Sir W.
