And without his aid we should certainly not have ventured, as we have done in Appendix I, upon the difficult, perhaps even hopeless, task of attempting to solve the perplexing problems connected with the Macedonian calendar. Our proof sheets have also had the advantage of having been read through by Dr. P. Mahaffy, to whose liberality we owe the insertion of a facsimile of the calendar (plate VIII).
