Description:Excerpt from John Waldron, of Dover, N. H. And His Descendants John-i, son of Richard'l, as in Fam. 3. Old John. Was born about 1740. He inherited the Taylor Page homestead, and lived there. There he camped the company which he led to t'ambridge, and there parson Belknap preached to them before they marched. Capt. John was at Cambridge when the Connecticut troops. Going home. Left \vashington to appeal to Xew llampshire patriotism; and the Captain came home, raised seven hundred men in four days and went back a Colonel. The death of his wife and the absolute needs of his young children made him retire earlv from the service, but his patriotism was unbounded. Probably Dover never had a more popular citizen. He was in the Provincial Legislature in 1774, and the Revolutionarv Convention at Exeter in 1773: Representative in 1782, '3, '5, '6, and '8, 1797, '8, 1801, '2. '3, and '15. He was in the State Senate in 1788, 1790, '1, and '2, 1803, '04, '05, and '06. At a single election he was chosen moderator, lot lax er. Highway surveyor, overseer of the poor.
