Description:Yered is a prosperous merchant living in the northern kingdom of Israel during the reign of King Israel. He was content with the idea that his life of opulence and luxury would continue uninterrupted by hardship or controversy. But forces beyond his control were at work to upset the normal routines of his day. After nearly colliding into a haggard, foul smelling man who was hastily leaving both the king's residence and the capital city of Samaria, he encounters three strangers that would give him his first clue that something odd was in the works. Yered later discovered that the weird looking man that almost ran him over was named Elijah. When he learned that Elijah brazenly demanded an audience with the king and his foreign born wife where he predicted a three year drought to afflict the land of Israel, the successful business man knew this bold prophet was not from Samaria. He surmised that since everybody in town knew that no one messed with Queen Jezebel without suffering dire consequences, this crazy man must be from one of outlying towns on the other side of the Jordan River. Without fully understanding why, he felt a strong impulse to talk with this fiery man of God. As it turned out, Yered was not the only person who wanted to catch up with the elusive prophet. A man on the run, Elijah was labeled as the top enemy of the state by the cold-hearted Queen Jezebel. In addition to the royal authorities, Israel's most visible prophet now has to be on the lookout for a renegade band of soldiers. This breakaway military unit was comprised of men who had brothers that were among the priests of Baal who Elijah had slaughtered on Mount Carmel. Faced with having to temporarily leave behind a life of luxury and ease, Yered has to overcome several challenges. As a man who never served a day in the military, he has to out maneuver two highly skilled and motivated military units. The first is the queen's elite corps which included foreign experienced mercenaries from her native land of Phoenicia. The second military threat Yered faces is a rebel band of soldiers who would stop at nothing to avenge their brothers' deaths. Even if the wealthy merchant somehow managed to outwit his military foes to reach Elijah before them, he still has another major obstacle to overcome. He has to find a way to convince the wily, but cautious religious man to grant him an exclusive, but never before heard of interview.
