It becomes our mindset, which determines our response to every event we are confronted with in our daily lives. We begin life empty of knowledge. From the moment we are born, we began to create the image of who we are and what we will become. Everything we do, everyone we meet, will influence every aspect of our persona and personality. By the time we reach our teen years, the frame work of our basic values are set. By the time we reach age twenty-five, our master mindset of values and beliefs are set for life. For most humans, their mindset will never change, and the balance of their lives will be lived out based on the values and beliefs that have been created by the observations and experiences to that point in life. What we have learned over the past fifty years is how to lie and avoid the truths, even how to make our constitution into a flexible document that suits minority beliefs. What is even a greater travesty is the untruths told by religious leaders from whom we expect the truth. But even that is forgivable. What is hardest pill to swallow, is the leader to the free world resorting to lies and untruth to get his way. We are slowly become a nation of extremists, but we fail to recognize the symptoms in ourselves. But there is good news in all of this. We can change, it is within our personal power to effect change, to stop the drift into a dark and scary world.
