But with whom was he disputing? - for all the dingy little knot of bystanders looked either stolidly indifferent, or merrily amused. Whilst Dr. Brooke was asking himself this, and watching the angry Italian, the dense crowd broke asunder, and then the second party in the dispute was made visible.
