I could wish the man in bronze, whose memory is dear to us, could speak to-day. But he does speak, and with silent, mighty power his voice has come down to us through the decades. Moreover, there is an accumulation of earnestness and potency after these decades and since history has more and more truly put him in his place as one of the foremost, if not the foremost, historic name in the nation.
