No consideration whatever is given to manufacturing, excepting where it is necessary to draw a comparison. I have eliminated as far as possible technicalities, that the value of this volume may be enhanced as a textbook and wherever it may be required for a complete installation of a department store system. I have long felt the need of a textbook on department store procedure, and have endeavored to render my book useful by its treatment of accounting, management and systems. Theory is entirely eliminated. Practical application and experience are its governing features. The management of stores very often is confronted with perplexing problems.
