Of this number only eight have been pur chased, and Of these, buildings are being erected upon five. Plans for three more are under way, contracts for which Will be awarded early in the year. The Committee could proceed with more rapidity if more sites were provided by the city. Before the year is closed it is expected that eight buildings will be completed and occupied. In behalf Of the Committee, I earnestly suggest that more library sites be promptly furnished, that our citizens may have the full benefit Of the Carnegie gift at as early a day as possible.
