CHICKENHAWK

Arnold Wolf
4.9/5 (21040 ratings)
Description:A sudden move. Quick. A blur. Too late. Abe saw him pull a gun from under his jacket. It’s huge. Black. A revolver. The barrel is impossibly long, it can’t be real…Reality became a sledgehammer jolt of shock and pain as the gun’s barrel was shoved into Abe’s mouth—gouging lips, splintering teeth, and nearly splitting his tongue in half. Abe tried to pull his head back, but the other man kept feeding him the gun. His left hand gripped the back of Abe’s neck, while he used the other to ram the gun forward, pushing Abe backward; closer to the tall wooden fence that hid them from the public’s view. Abe tried to scream but nearly gagged on his own blood. The only sound he managed was a gurgling cough.Theodore “Paki” Pakidorapopulos is a successful, happily married man with a secret. One that he’s kept from his closest friends and family for as long as he can remember… he enjoys having sex with young men and boys. He takes pleasure in his double life, does not consider himself gay, and occasionally even ridicules gay causes in his popular magazine column. Then he gets sick and everything changes. Afraid that he has become infected with the AIDS virus, he starts to see his comfortable world come apart as his illness, anger, and growing madness start to affect his work and his family. He takes revenge on those he blames for making him sick by shooting and killing the young male prostitutes he regularly solicits. Two cops from the Manhattan North Homicide squad, Eddie Ramos and Tommy Cucitti, try to track him down, but how do you catch someone who’s managed to successfully keep his double-life a secret for so long? Politics also come into play when the two cops are re-assigned to work on the same case for a D.A. that has aspirations to the mayor’s office. Nothing comes easy in this case as the body count grows and the cops’ jobs, reputations and lives are on the line. This novel is very graphic and pulls few punches, possibly finding an audience among those who enjoyed the classic reads, “Down These Mean Streets” by Piri Thomas or "The First Deadly Sin" by Lawrence Sanders. Believe it or not, many of the crimes, situations, and motives in the novel were actually gleaned from the headlines. This is a gritty, realistic novel about police work, sex, and the underbelly of New York City... it is not for the faint of heart. We have made it easy for you to find a PDF Ebooks without any digging.
