Ragay: A World War II Novel

José P. Leveriza
4.9/5 (25940 ratings)
Description:Ragay is the story of an agricultural town in the province of Camarines Sur which started as a settlement of Bicolanos, Tagalogs, Visayans at the mouth of the Pacolago River. There is no fixed date when the town was organized. However, church records show that the place was a visita of the town of Lupi on 15 April 1753. In 1754, because of Moro raids, the people transferred the town to the upper part of Ragay River in Kaburihan. Ragay became officially a part of the province of Camarines Sur in 1919 by virtue of Act No. 2809 of the Philippine Legislature. While it is fiction, it shows the truth of the effects of the war not only on the Battlefields of Bataan, but also in other parts of the Philippines, particularly in the Bicol Peninsula. Though it is fiction it shows the truth of the effects of the war not only on the Filipinos but also on the other citizens of the world.
