Over the course of his career he has served as counsel on several high profile criminal cases, and along with his co-counsel and students, he has been successful in exonerating many wrongfully convicted clients. Professor Brooks works extensively throughout Latin America training defense attorneys, prosecutors, judges, and law enforcement. He is a founding board member of the Innocence Network and has launched innocence work in Argentina, Chile, Mexico, and Puerto Rico.
