Description:When our oldest was just 4 years old, we decided to keep him home for his kindergarten year. He was bright, precocious, and already reading. We just knew those factors would contribute to all kinds of classroom naughtiness, and so we thought we would help him gain a little maturity and self-control before we put him into a group learning environment.Fourteen years later, Hayden graduated from our homeschool having never gone to a traditional school. Along the way we added seven other children to our home, which means that for all sixteen of our homeschooling years so far, we have always had a preschooler in our home. For fifteen years I was either pregnant, postpartum, or nursing a baby.Yet, somehow we managed an education for our older children that allowed Hayden to graduate with his bachelor's degree at age 20 and for our second son to gain admittance to the university of his choice.Homeschooling works. Homeschooling successfully with little ones underfoot is entirely possible. You will be tired, sometimes frustrated, and always needing to lean on Jesus, but you can also be joyful, excited to dig in, and totally blessed. I created my Preschoolers and Peace blog in 2006 as a place to distribute additional resources and information to home educators just like you.
