Each Monthly Meeting is to appoint annually a Committee on Registration, whose duty it shall be to collect an account of all the births and deaths of members and to hand the same to the Recorder to be registered; also to assist the Recorder in making necessary changes and corrections in the Register. They are also to receive and consider applications for membership on behalf of minors. Children born while their parents are members of the Society are to be considered members, their rights attaching to the Monthly Meeting to which the mother belongs. Application for membership on behalf of minor children may be made by their parents or guardians who are members, to the Committee on Registration. The application should be in writing and signed by both parents--if living--whether both are members or not; or by the guardians, if the parents are deceased. If, after careful inquiry, it shall appear that such children are likely to be trained consistently with our Christian profession, and the committee is satisfied that it would be proper to grant the application, the names of the children are to be forwarded to the Monthly Meeting for its approval before being sent to the Recorder for registration. Persons of adult age and minors who have arrived at years of sufficient judgment may be admitted into membership upon their own request to the Monthly Meeting, upon satisfactory inquiry as to the sincerity and propriety of the request. Such requests for membership should be made to the Overseers and by them forwarded through the Preparative Meeting to the Monthly Meeting, which should appoint a committee to confer with the applicant to ascertain if his request is in sincerity and based upon conviction of the truth of our testimonies.
