Shattered Lives: In the Pearl of Africa

Azim P.H. Somani
4.9/5 (30404 ratings)
Description:Review"A most engrossing read" --The Daily MailFrom the PublisherWe are proud to have the opportunity to publish this amazing true life story. The story takes the reader on a journey of life before Idi Amin, during his rule and life under the ninety days deadline which shattered people’s lives. In addition it is amazing to realise how a child would cope living in boarding school at a mere age of nine, how this child would then at the age of fourteen help rescue a family with young children from the civil war in Zaire in 1969. It is also unique how this child as a teenager, chased bandits through the mountains of Africa, through the bamboo forest which is the home of baboons, a chase that ends in victory. The story takes the reader through much, much more… A story that ever reader will enjoy! --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title. From the AuthorFor the past 32years, I have been mindful that at some stage in my life I should write about my experiences of life in Uganda and United Kingdom. But this wasn’t easy and to this day, I have been unable to find the courage to examine my emotions and feelings, in view to understand, why human beings hurt other human beings to an extent where they destroy their lives. But, after lots of persuasion from my children, I finally found the courage to walk the journey of my memory lane.As I walk my memory lane, I offer my reader sorrow, humour, enjoyment, excitement, courage and lots of fun. It genuinely has been amazing walking the journey of my past in Africa and the experiences that I have been through. I realize, I was so young and doing what adults would do and I was seeing through the eyes of innocence. The photos on the cover pages are mine and taken in 1957. There is no question that I have experienced lots of happiness but, I have also seen lots of sadness and many Shattered Lives --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title. We have made it easy for you to find a PDF Ebooks without any digging.
