Not illustrated. 1903 ...the date of the annual meeting was postponed from August until September 5th, in order that these fruit shipments being then over, they could be present. Unfortunately this change of date was not appreciated and very few of the leading Middle Georgia fruit growers were present. The atttendance, however, was very good, and the interest manifested in the work unusually satisfactory. The Convention was honored by the presence of Dr. E. Mead Wilcox and Dr. Mcintosh, of Alabama, who delivered very valuable papers. The display of fruits, owing to the lateness of the season, was limited, but some excellent exhibits were made of Pecans, Japan and other Walnuts, Pomegranates, new Japanese fruits Mid some extra fine late Peaches and Apples. The arrangements for holding the convention and the exhibit of fruits were most excellent, and the Soc'ety is particularly indebted to Hon. Pridges Smith, mayor of Macon, for having placed the Auditorium at its service and provided every desirable convenience. The stage was handsomely decorated with large and wellgrown specimens of ferns by the Idle-Hour Nursery, to whom special acknowledgements were given. The spacious parlors of the Lanier House were set aside by the proprietor for holding meetings in a comfortable manner. It was resolved that Macon be selected as the place for the session of ii)of, and the date resumed as in the past, namely, tlv first week in August. OFFICERS PRESIDENT I'. J.
