Moreover, rapid cultural specialization led to rapid morphological and cognitive changes that have baffled paleoanthropologists to such an extent that various exotic evolutionary scenarios were proposed to explain them. An inevitable predisposition to psychological disorders accompanied these changes. However, modern hunter-gatherers of the ‘immediate-return’ type achieved a balanced material, mental and social stage that did not allow the realization of such side-effects.
