What will happen to Maddie and her family? ---------------------------------------------------------- EXCERPT FROM BOOK "Hey!" a voice called out. "Hey you girls!" They realized the voice was calling to them. It was one of the college girls. They were waving them over. "They must be talking to the two of you," Maddie said. "Come on, mom," Taylor said. The three women made their way over to the other three women. They introduced themselves as Morgan, Lindsay, and Britt. They were on vacation together and wanted to play some volleyball. They wanted to know if the mother and daughters wanted to join them to play some three on three. They'd be more than willing to order daiquiris of their own to even the playing field. "Oh I'm not sure if I can hang with you young girls," Maddie said. "Nonsense," the girl named Britt said. "I have a sneaking suspicion that you're fiercer than all of us combined." Maddie blushed tremendously and after her daughters begged her, she agreed to stick around after going to retrieve their umbrella and towels. The three girls from Penn State were as good as their world. They also ordered daiquiris to "even the playing field." After the first round, all six people decided that another round was in order. And then another. And then of course another. The game of volleyball never got around to happening. The six women sat under the constructed net and fell into an ever-drunker state. They had a wonderful time as only six women can, swapping horror-stories about boyfriends, and generally commiserating about the failures of men. Eventually, unused to heavy drinking, Melissa and Taylor announced that they were going to bed. They stood up to go and seemed surprised when their mother did not also get up. In fact, Maddie was feeling quite good under the influence of many daiquiris she was not ready to call it a night just yet.
