I like de Duke, for I pe a Mac Leod, and Mac Leods no pe like Sharly; but I no trink hot pot, or possat, for I no ken dat. I pe trink milk and whey." Every method proving ineffectual to extract a confession, she was put into the town's tolbooth, where she was kept for some weeks; and she was to be drubbed through the town, had not interest been made to get it prevented.!
