Al-Muḥibbī said about the author in Khulāsah al-Athar (1/18-19), “Shaykh Ibrāhīm bin Ḥasan al-Mullā al-Aḥsā’ī al-Ḥanafī is from the major scholars and Imāms, adorned with the quality of conviction and engrossed with worship. He was a jurist and grammarian, well grounded in a number of sciences. He studied in his city with a number of scholars and studied in Makkah with its jurist ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Murshidī who wrote for him a detailed license indicating in it to his expertise in the Islamic sciences.”The CommentatorShaykh Yaḥyā bin Muḥammad al-Mullā is a Saudi born contemporary scholar of Ḥanafī fiqh who memorized the Quran and studied with his father along with other scholars in his native al-Aḥsā’. These included Shaykh Muhammad Yāsīn al-Fādānī, Shaykh Yʿaqūb ʿAlī Murād al-Balūshī, Shaykh Aḥmad Jābir Jibrān, Shaykh Aḥmad al-Ahdal, Shaykh ʿĀshiq Ilāhī al-Barnī, and not least his uncle, the graduate of the al-Ṣawlatiyyah school, Shaykh ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Mullā.
